Halloween Party!

Our annual Halloween party was last night. We had only a few people over, but we definately had a blast. I dressed as a fertility goddess... and Stephen dressed as a.... well... you decide :)

In other news, baby seems to be doing good, getting bigger day by day! Tuesday is our appointment with the genetic counselor. This appointment is a big deal to us because my youngest brother had a rare muscle disease, and I am unsure if I am a carrier. We are hoping that they will be able to give us some more information and ease our worries. Also - we are having an ultrasound. Boy or girl? What do you think?

18 Weeks - Watch out world!

Watch out world... Baby Schaefer is a mover and a shaker!

I had my 18 week appointment today, and baby was moving around so much, that the nurse had a very hard time finding the heartbeat. She said that that was the hardest time she has had with that in a long time, so looks like I have a very active baby. Maybe it was just the chocolate I ate after dinner... We finally did get to hear the heartbeat though :)

I think that I've felt some movement this week... Just little flutters every few days or so. It's a great feeling. I cant wait until I can feel it more frequently.

I've been having some pains lately, but the doctor reassured me that it's just stretching. Uncomfortable, but bearable. I'm glad that it isnt anything wrong.

Thats about it! Here's a pic... but I was really tired when it was taken - plus my hair was a mess, oh well! Next week - ultrasound!

17 Weeks Pregnant

Well, I'm 17 weeks today! I wish I had started this blog sooner in my pregnancy, but it probably would have been full of tons of complaining because I was so sick and uncomfortable!

So far, the second trimester has been so much better than the first. I have more energy (though I still often go to sleep at 9PM!), I feel happier, and overall less sick. My belly is growing, and that is the most amazing thing to watch. Last week and the next few weeks are a growth spurt for baby - he or she grew 1 inch in length in the past week!
